Sample routes, with the travel days left in

Each itinerary shows how a route really fits together: where the long transfers fall, where a driver helps, and what to book ahead. They are illustrations to adapt, not packages.

It has three long road days, all placed early in the day, and ends with a buffer before your flight from Pakse.

Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi from Luang Prabang: 5 days

From Luang Prabang, five days gives you two nights in Nong Khiaw and two in Muang Ngoi, with a road transfer in and a boat-and-road day out. Plan the return so you are not catching a train or flight from Luang Prabang on the same day you leave Muang Ngoi.
