Terms

Effective 11 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of laosexplore.com and to trips booked through Laos Explore (“we”, “us”). The written proposal for your trip forms part of your agreement, identifies the business you contract with, and takes priority over these general terms where the two differ.

1. Our role

Laos Explore plans trips in Laos and is your booking contact. The services in your trip, such as transport with a driver, boat trips, guiding and accommodation, are delivered by independent local providers. We do not own or operate vehicles or boats and do not employ drivers or guides. Your proposal names the provider of each service.

2. Trip requests and proposals

Sending a trip request is free and does not create a booking or any obligation. A proposal sets out the itinerary, the total price and what it includes and excludes, the prepayment and any balance, cancellation terms and the provider of each service. Proposals are valid for the period they state and depend on availability when you accept.

3. Booking and payment

A booking is made when you accept a proposal and pay the prepayment to us. We then confirm the services with their providers and confirm the booking to you in writing. Where your proposal says so, a balance is paid directly to a provider in Laos, in the amount and at the time stated. The prepayment and any balance together make up the total price in your proposal; we do not add surcharges after you book.

4. Provider conditions

Providers deliver their services under their own operating conditions, which may include luggage limits, minimum passenger numbers and safety rules. Your proposal highlights conditions that materially affect you. Providers may change or suspend services for reasons of safety, weather, river levels or road conditions.

5. Changes and cancellations

If you want to change or cancel a booking, tell us in writing. If you cancel your booking, we refund your prepayment, as set out in our cancellation policy. If a provider cannot deliver a service, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer a suitable alternative or refund your prepayment for that service.

6. Prices and information

Prices are as stated in your proposal. Prices, fees and journey times published on this website are reference information, not offers. Sample itineraries are illustrative.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Hold a valid passport and the visa or entry permission required for the entry point you use.
  • Take out travel insurance covering medical treatment and evacuation, and cancellation if you wish.
  • Tell us before booking about any health, mobility or dietary needs that could affect your trip.
  • Follow the safety instructions of drivers, boat operators and guides, and respect local laws, customs and communities.

8. Responsibilities

We plan your trip and handle your booking with reasonable skill and care, and we give accurate information about the services we arrange. Each provider is responsible for delivering its service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

9. Events beyond anyone’s control

Weather, floods, road closures, strikes, government action, disease outbreaks and similar events can disrupt travel. Where they do, we will help you rearrange your plans. Refunds follow our cancellation policy and applicable law.

10. Complaints

If something is not right during your trip, tell the provider and us straight away so we can try to fix it. If you remain unhappy, email hello@laosexplore.com within 28 days of your return and we will respond in writing.

11. Website

Information on this website is provided for general planning and may change. Photographs are credited on each page and remain the property of their authors under their licences; they show places, not the providers in any proposal.

12. Law

The law that governs your booking and the courts that can hear disputes are stated in your proposal. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
